Playing Lessons

TAKING YOUR GOLF GAME TO THE COURSE

PLAYING LESSONS

GOLF IS ONE OF THE FEW SPORTS THAT YOU PRACTICE AT A PLACE DIFFERENT THAN WHERE YOU PLAY THE GAME.  MANY OF US HIT THE BALL WELL ON THE DRIVING RANGE BUT DON’T KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER OUR SKILLS TO THE GOLF COURSE.

WHAT YOU NEED IS TO TAKE A PLAYING LESSON WHERE DR. JEAN ANALYZES YOUR GAME, NOT YOUR SWING, ON THE COURSE.  IT’S PROBABLY THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU WILL TAKE.  I WILL LOOK AT YOUR ROUTINE, AIM AND ALIGNMENT, CLUB SELECTION, COURSE MANAGEMENT AND REACTION TO THE RESULTS OF EACH SHOT.

DURING THE LESSON YOU WILL WORK ON SITUATIONS THAT ARE DIFFICULT TO SIMULATE ON THE DRIVING RANGE.  YOU WILL NOT BE WORKING ON SWING MECHANICS.

TYPICAL PLAYING LESSON INSTRUCTION:

  • CLUB SELECTION
  • SHOT SELECTION
  • PRE-SWING ROUTINE
  • ANALYZING WIND CONDITIONS
  • UNDERSTANDING HOW “LIE” AFFECTS THE SHOT
  • POST SHOT REACTIONS
  • YOUR “SELF TALK AND BODY LANGUAGE”

A THREE TO FOUR HOLE LESSON (1 ½ HOURS) IS USUALLY ENOUGH FOR ME TO ASSESS YOUR NEEDS.  IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GROUP SETTING, I SUGGEST A SCRAMBLE FORMAT SO THAT EVERYONE IS HITTING THE SAME SHOT.
