LPGA/USGA GIRLS GOLF

The local chapter of the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Club of Bluffton is starting its eleventh year and is excited to announce that they are conducting a number of clinics at The First Tee of the Low Country.  The facility is located at the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head.  We will also be conducting sessions in Bluffton at Colleton River, Berkeley Hall, Eagles Pointe and the Learning Center at the International Junior Golf Academy.  The highlight of the season is a field trip to the Heritage Golf tournament.

The girls will learn so much more than the game of golf.  They will be exposed to the 5 "E's" of Girls Golf:  Empower, Enrich, Engage, Energize and Exercise.  This year we are adding new instruction and games from the Operation 36 curriculum

Our local chapter is co-directed by Dr. Jean Harris and Krista Dunton, both LPGA Teachers of the Year.  The program also utilizes local LPGA and PGA professionals who volunteer their expertise to give the girls great instruction.

Volunteers are needed to help the golf professionals.  They can also use help in the areas of motor skill stations, crafts, character and value sessions.  Contact us at our email address listed below.

Girls Golf is open to all girls ages 7-17.  Girls need no prior golf knowledge and golf equipment is supplied for those who don't have golf clubs.  Girls who possess previous knowledge and skill will be able to advance their skills and have opportunities to play.  There will be a skills assessment so that the girls will be placed in the proper level of instruction.

The program begins on January 18th 2019 with a visit to the PGA Tour Superstore.  The girls will be fitted for clubs and will be able to play games on the simulators.

The fee for the five month program is $135 per girl.  Scholarships are available based on need.  For more information and to register, please contact LPGA Girls Golf of Bluffton at  girlsgolfbluffton@gmail.com.  The deadline for registration is January 15th and space is limited. You can also call Dr. Jean at (843) 540-1456.
